The deadline
What's driving it — a customer security review, a SOC 2 or HIPAA date, a launch. We work backward from there.
The environment
Production or staging, roughly how it's hosted, and whether you can hand over test credentials for authenticated testing.
Prior work
Any earlier assessment, a completed questionnaire, or existing evidence. If there's history, we don't start from zero.
